Welcome to the Biomolecular NMR Center of the Biochemistry Department at the University of Montreal. Our centre includes 500 MHz and 600 MHz NMR spectrometers and also an access to a 800MHz at McGill University and a 900MHz in Georgia.

Researchers in charge: Pascale Legault, PhD and James G. Omichinski. PhD

Annual Seminar of the UdeM Biomolecular NMR Center (in preparation)

  • The UnityINOVA Varian 500 MHz :
    • Configured to perform the most demanding NMR experiments in 1, 2, 3, and 4 dimensions.
    • Equipped with four channels, each with a waveform generator, single axis pulsed field Z gradient and the capability of decoupling deuterium while maintaining a deuterium lock.
    • Equipped with multiple NMR probes for detection of a variety of nuclei.
    • Equipped with a versatile automatic sample transport (VAST) system capable of flow NMR, which allows high through-put NMR screening and structure-activity relationship by NMR.
  • The UnityINOVA Varian 600 MHz :
    • Configured to perform the most demanding NMR experiments in 1, 2, 3, and 4 dimensions.
    • Equipped with four channels, each with a waveform generator, triaxis pulsed field gradients and the capability of decoupling deuterium while maintaining a deuterium lock.
    • Since February 2008, equipped with a 5mM HCN cryogenic probe with Z gradients. This probe is connected to a novel cryogenic system, the first of its kind installed in Canada.
